Introducing our new Executive Director - Jennifer Greek

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Jennifer began her career working with individuals living with disabilities in 1995 after graduating from the University of Manitoba. Her first job was working in grassroots program development with Special Olympics Manitoba, leaving after five years to work at the Society of Manitobans with Disabilities in youth recreation. Jennifer returned to Special Olympics in 2002 taking on the role of Program Director, becoming CEO in 2016.

Social enterprise is one of those buzzwords that many people don’t completely understand. So what is it? Essentially, it’s when a non-profit or charitable group sells a service or product in order to help sustain their mandate; which typically is improvements in human and environmental well-being.

Just Us Coffee

Just Us! Coffee Roasters Co-op is a Canadian importer of fair trade coffee, tea, sugar, and chocolate. Based in Grand Pré, Nova Scotia, Just Us! products are sold throughout Canada, typically in shops specializing in fair trade goods such as Ten Thousand Villages. As well, Just Us! operates a network of cafés in Nova Scotia with locations in Grand Pré, Wolfville, and Halifax.

Utilizing person-directed plans, the Support Counsellor will implement recreation, leisure and work programs, provide personal care and maintain safety and cleanliness of the workspace.

The Support Counsellor must have a vehicle in good, safe working order, a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and 2 million dollars in insurance. A current criminal record check is required.

This position is Monday – Thursday during the daytime hours and is for 25 hours a week. The individual in this position reports to The Club supervisor.
